Annuncia is free, open-source software. Use it for anything you like. It comes with no warranty, and what you record is yours and your responsibility.
These terms cover the Annuncia app for macOS and this website. “We” means the people who make Annuncia. By using either, you agree to these terms.
The software
Annuncia’s source code is licensed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify and distribute it under that license. Nothing in these terms takes away any right the MIT License gives you; if the two ever disagree about the code, the license wins.
Speech models
If you turn on transcription, Annuncia downloads a speech model from Hugging Face. Those models are made by others and come under their own licenses: Parakeet under the NVIDIA Open Model License, and Whisper under the MIT License. By downloading one, you agree to its license.
Your recordings
Everything you record belongs to you. It stays on your Mac, and we have no access to it.
You’re responsible for what you record and share. Many places require consent before you record someone’s voice or image, so get it where the law asks for it, and respect other people’s privacy and rights in what you capture.
The Annuncia name
The MIT License covers the code, not the Annuncia name or logo. If you publish your own version of the app, please give it a different name and icon so people can tell the two apart.
This website
You’re welcome to browse, link to and share this site. Please don’t try to disrupt it, break its security or pass yourself off as us.
No warranty
The app and this site are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Recordings can fail or be lost, so keep copies of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, recordings or profits, arising from your use of Annuncia or this site.
Annuncia Cloud
We plan an optional paid service for share links and team libraries. It doesn’t exist yet. If it launches, it will come with its own terms.
Changes
If these terms change, we’ll update them here and change the date at the top. Using Annuncia after a change means you accept the new terms.
