Annuncia records, edits and transcribes on your Mac. It has no account, no analytics and no tracking, and it never uploads your recordings or transcripts.
This policy covers the Annuncia app for macOS and this website. “We” means the people who make Annuncia.
The app
Your recordings stay on your Mac. Recordings are saved to the folder you choose. Transcripts, thumbnails and the list of your recordings are kept in Annuncia’s own folders on your Mac. We never receive any of it.
Camera, microphone and screen. Annuncia asks macOS for these permissions so it can record. What it captures goes into your recording and nowhere else.
Transcription runs on your Mac. The speech models run on your Mac’s GPU. Your audio never leaves the machine.
The one thing Annuncia downloads. When you turn on transcription, Annuncia downloads the speech model you pick from Hugging Face. That download is a normal web request, so Hugging Face sees your IP address and handles it under its own privacy policy. Nothing about you or your recordings is sent with it. Annuncia makes no other network requests.
No analytics or crash reports. Annuncia doesn’t collect usage data, telemetry or crash reports, and has no account to sign in to.
Settings. Your preferences are saved in a file on your Mac, ~/.config/annuncia/settings.json.
This website
The site has no cookies, analytics, ads or trackers, and no forms.
Like any website, it’s served by a hosting provider that may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to run and protect the service. The site also loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address under Google’s privacy policy. Download and source links take you to GitHub, which has its own privacy statement.
Annuncia Cloud
We plan an optional paid service for share links and team libraries. It doesn’t exist yet. If it launches, it will have its own privacy terms, and nothing will be uploaded unless you choose to use it.
Children
Annuncia isn’t directed at children, and since we collect no personal information, we don’t knowingly collect any from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
